About Wallpaper Installation Seattle Pro
Wallpaper Installation Seattle Pro installs, repairs, and removes wallpaper for homes and businesses in Seattle and the Eastside. This page covers what we do, how a job works, where we work, what it costs, and how to check any wallpaper installer before you hire them.
Who is Wallpaper Installation Seattle Pro?
Wallpaper Installation Seattle Pro is a wallpaper installation service for Seattle and the Eastside. We hang wallpaper, grasscloth and other specialty wallcoverings, peel-and-stick, and murals, and we remove or repair wallpaper that has failed. We focus on this region because its conditions, a long damp season and many older homes with plaster walls, change how a wall should be prepared before any paper goes up.
What wallpaper services do you offer?
We take on eight kinds of work:
- Residential wallpaper installation: accent walls, single rooms, and whole homes
- Historic home wallpaper installation: original plaster and lath walls
- Commercial wallpaper installation: offices, restaurants, hotels, retail, and lobbies
- Wallpaper removal: including stacked layers, vinyl, and old adhesive
- Wallpaper repair: lifted seams, bubbles, and tears
- Grasscloth and specialty wallcovering installation
- Peel-and-stick wallpaper installation
- Mural and statement wall installation
How does a wallpaper job work from the first call to the finished wall?
Every job follows the same order. The longer version is on our installation process page.
- Assessment. We look at what the wall is made of and check moisture and condition before we quote.
- Written estimate. The price is written down after the assessment, not guessed over the phone.
- Repair and prep. Cracks are patched, uneven areas are smoothed, and the wall is primed.
- Hanging. Panels are pattern-matched one at a time against vertical guides.
- Seams and edges. Seams are pressed and corners and edges are finished by hand.
- Final walk-through. We check adhesion, seams, and alignment with you before we call the job done.
Why does wallpaper in Seattle need a different approach?
Seattle’s damp fall and winter keep moisture in the air and in the walls, and many Seattle homes are older, with plaster over lath and several coats of paint. When a wall is damp, cracked, or unprimed, wallpaper tends to lift or bubble no matter how good the paper is. That is why we assess the wall before we recommend a material or a price. Our guide to wallpaper for Pacific Northwest homes goes into the details.
Where do you work?
We work across Seattle and the Eastside, including Capitol Hill, Ballard, Fremont, Wallingford, Queen Anne, West Seattle, Magnolia, Beacon Hill, Greenwood, Phinney Ridge, Green Lake, Columbia City, Madison Park, the University District, and Belltown, and in Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond, and Mercer Island. We also take projects in Tacoma, Everett, Renton, and Federal Way. Each area has its own page under Areas We Serve in the menu.
How much does wallpaper installation cost in Seattle?
Standard wallpaper materials typically run $3 to $9 per square foot to install. Grasscloth, murals, and other high-difficulty materials typically run $6 to $14 per square foot. Wall condition, such as plaster repair or old layers underneath, can move the final number, which is why we write the estimate after we see the walls. Our wallpaper installation cost guide breaks it down by material and room.
How can I check a wallpaper installer’s license and insurance in Washington?
Use the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) Verify a Contractor, Tradesperson or Business tool. It shows whether a contractor has an active registration, a bond, workers’ comp coverage, and any infractions. Before you hire any wallpaper installer, ask for:
- their contractor registration number, and look it up on the L&I Verify tool
- a certificate of insurance
- a written estimate that lists the walls, the material, and the prep that is included
- photos of similar past work
- how they test and prime walls in a damp climate
What does a well-finished wallpaper job look like?
Some seam can show up close on plain, light paper even when the work is skilled. A seam you can lift with a fingernail, a pattern that misses at eye level, or bubbles within the first days are warning signs. Our wallpaper quality standards page explains what is normal and what is not.
